HUDL
Hudl: Player Development & Film Review
Hudl is the video platform we use to support athlete development, learning, and communication. Game and practice film give athletes a powerful opportunity to better understand the game, reflect on performance, and grow as volleyball players.
What Hudl Is Used For
Hudl allows players and coaches to:
- Review game and practice film
- Learn from both successes and mistakes
- Understand team systems and individual responsibilities
- Share feedback and teaching moments
- Build volleyball IQ over time
Film is one of the most effective tools for growth — when used with purpose.
Expectations for Players
Hudl is a learning tool, not a highlight reel.
Players are expected to:
- Watch assigned film when asked by their coach
- Be open to feedback and coaching instruction
- Use film to improve decision-making and consistency
- Ask thoughtful questions about what they see
Growth happens when athletes engage with film intentionally, not emotionally.
Guidance for Parents
We encourage parents to view Hudl as a supportive resource, not a performance scorecard.
Please keep in mind:
- Film shows moments, not the full picture of an athlete’s growth
- Coaches use film to teach concepts, not to single out mistakes
- Watching film with your athlete can be helpful — focus on learning, not criticism
- Direct coaching questions should always go through the team coach
Our goal is to create a positive, development-focused experience for every athlete.
Recruiting & Highlights (When Applicable)
For athletes pursuing collegiate volleyball, Hudl can also be used to:
- Create highlight clips
- Share video with college coaches
- Track long-term progress
Coaches will provide guidance when athletes reach the appropriate stage for recruiting-related film use.
Access & Setup
- Hudl access is managed through the club and team coaches
- Families will receive instructions if and when Hudl is used for their team
- Not all teams or age groups may use Hudl in the same way
If you have questions about Hudl access or usage, please contact Nick (nick@milwaukeesting.com) or Kennedy (kennedy@milwaukeesting.com).
