Milwaukee Sting offers additional training opportunities throughout the year designed to strengthen individual skills, provide focused instruction, and give athletes more opportunities to grow their game. Select clinics are open to both Sting and non-Sting athletes.

Girls Fall Clinic Series

Our Fall Clinic Series gives girls ages 13s–17s additional opportunities to focus on specific areas of their game through skill-focused training led by Milwaukee Sting coaches. These clinics are open to both current Sting athletes and athletes from outside the Milwaukee Sting program.

Defensive Clinic

Led by Jimmy Doherty

Develop the skills and confidence to be a strong back-row defender. Athletes will focus on defensive positioning, reading attackers, digging, pursuit, and ball control through high-repetition drills and game-like situations.

NETwork Clinic

Led by Amy Wagner

Focused on developing front-row skills and stronger connections at the net. Hitters will work on attacking technique, blocking, and decision-making, while setters will focus on blocking, attacking, and building consistent connections with their hitters.

First Contact Clinic

Led by Taylor Groppe & Lauren Barnes

Build a stronger first contact and create more opportunities for your team. Athletes will focus on serving, serve receive, passing, and out-of-system play, with an emphasis on ball control, communication, and making confident decisions under pressure.

Fall Clinics are open to both Sting and non-Sting athletes. Clinics are registered for individually, and athletes may attend one or multiple dates based on their training goals and availability.

Sting Training Academy

The Sting Training Academy provides additional skill-development opportunities exclusively for current Sting athletes outside of their regular team practices. Academy sessions are offered at select times throughout the year.

What is Sting Training Academy?
Sting Training Academy sessions provide athletes with additional focused training designed to reinforce fundamentals, improve individual skills, and build confidence on the court.
Who Can Participate?
Unlike the Fall Clinic Series above, Sting Training Academy opportunities are available exclusively to current Sting athletes. Specific age groups and training opportunities may vary by session.
Training Format
Sessions are led by Sting coaches and focus on high-repetition, purposeful training that complements each athlete's regular team training and development.
There are currently no Sting Training Academy sessions scheduled for the fall. Future Academy opportunities will be posted here as they become available.
