Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club is proud to partner with the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network to provide our athletes with a licensed athletic trainer at our Milwaukee Sting Center.
Athletic trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. An athletic trainer from the Froedtert & MCW sports medicine team attends all home tournaments, in addition to weekly athletic training facility hours.
Our club’s athletic trainer is Stuart Burkart. He is originally from Wauwatosa, WI. Stuart graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in May, 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. After graduation, he worked as a member of Froedtert Community Physicians as a pool staff athletic trainer in August 2018. He has now taken a full time position through Froedtert as of November 2018 working at the Sports Medicine Center in Wauwatosa.
If your son or daughter sustains a sports-related injury, they may visit the athletic training facility at no charge (located in the Milwaukee Sting Center). Stuart does an excellent job of assessing the situation and recommending treatment. He works closely with our coaching staff to ensure top care in preventing, diagnosing and treating sports injuries.
In addition to the weekly hours at the Sting Facility, Milwaukee Sting athletes’ parents can also contact a Froedtert & MCW licensed athletic trainer through the Healthy Roster app on your phone (free of charge).
